In response to the global public health challenge posed by the rapidly growing NCD burden, the Fifty-third World Health Assembly passed a resolution in 2000, endorsing a Global Strategy for the Prevention and Control of Non-Communicable Diseases. The progress of implementation of the Global Strategy Action Plan, was the topic of a World Conference convened in 2011. In alignment with this growing international debate, LEA has decided to dedicate its 17thAnnual Conference to documenting the progress, gaps and prospects for NCD surveillance, control and prevention in Lebanon. The 17th LEA conference will coverall issues under the following large headings:

Cardio-vascular, Diabetes and metabolic diseases and their risk factors
Cancers
Chronic respiratory conditions
Mental health problems
Musculoskeletal conditions
Targeted participants are:

Epidemiologists, sociologists, economists, public health experts
Governmental institutions
Civil society institutions:unions, scientific societies, municipalities, NGOs
Academic institutions or research centers
International organizations
